The stump seating offers a good height and wide base for children to feel stable when used as a seat. The bark is left on to provide both visual and tactile experiences. The stumps are light enough for children to peek underneath for bugs and move around the playground to create an obstacle course, as well as supporting problem solving situations where height is needed. These activities support proprioceptive exercises of ‘heavy work’.
